A Gentle Morning Mist Quietly Hugs My Studio

Early Light Gallery

Quiet beginnings. moving slowly across Hancock County as day arrives.

Early Light explores the brief, transitional hours when forms soften and the world feels newly arranged. These paintings are rooted in early morning ... when light is indirect, shadows aregentle, and color emerges with restraint rather than defination.

Structures, fields, and edges of land are suggested rather than defined. The brush work remains calm, allowing atmosphere to carry the composition as much as form. The intention is not to describe a specific place, butto hold the sensation of beginning...when clarity is forming but not totally complete.

These works invite slow viewing. They are meant to be entered quietly, much like the light that inspired them.
