Barns Come And Go; The Land Remains
Two weathered barns sit quietly beyond an open field, catching the warm light of late afternoon. The larger barn shows the marks of age, while the long low structure beside it recedes into the surrounding trees and farmland.
The contrast between the aging buildings and the enduring fields is what gives the scene its quiet character. Barns require care, eventually change, and sometimes disappear altogether. The land surrounding them, however, continues through the seasons.
Rather than treating the barns as relics, this watercolor observes them as part of an ongoing rural landscape—structures shaped by time, weather, work, and generations of farming. The soft evening light and expansive foreground reinforce the sense of continuity and stillness.
