A Quiet Place To Pause

A Quiet Place To Pause

There are places in the countryside that seem to ask nothing of us except that we stop for a while. This quiet summer pasture is one of them. A narrow, weathered path follows shallow water toward a stand of trees, while soft evening light settles across the grasses and distant fields. The landscape feels unhurried, as though the day itself has slowed.

The reflection in the water and the muted colors of the approaching evening add to the sense of stillness. Nothing dramatic is happening here. There is simply the pleasure of being present in a peaceful place at the end of a summer day. For me, these are the moments that make wandering rural roads worthwhile—the unexpected discovery of a place that invites you to pause, look around, and simply enjoy being there.
