Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
In pursuit of subjects for my abstract architectural photo paintings I have spent hours and walked miles wandering around cities big and small worldwide. Debarking from a cruise on the Li River, through some of the most beautiful natural scenery anywhere on the planet, the night was spent in Yangshuo. This small city is quaint with narrow streets reminding me of many European towns. Delightful visual vignettes were in abundance navigating these streets. Though not a Starbucks, this little streetside cafe table and bench creates a wonderful geometric abstract architectural painting.
Architecture and architectural detail have been a lifelong love. As a matter of fact, many of my first drawings and paintings were of barns on and around my grandparents farm. When deciding what university major to pursue, it was only due to my less than outstanding math grades that prevented my choice of architecture. However, obtaining a degree in advertising design turned out to be an excellent choice. Yet my interest in architecture persisted. Twice during my corporate design career I designed and built my own house. Travels allowed visits to noteworthy architectural sites on four continents. Experiencing buildings first hand has brought and continues to bring feelings of joy, amazement, excitement and wonder. On occasion tears and...
