Artist's Description
On a backstreet in the old section of Changhua, Taiwan, crumbled plaster had exposed the adobe bricks underneath. The weathered bricks formed a rugged pattern as the sun created dense shadows. For some reason, a beautiful metal sculpture of a flower had been placed beside the wall. The juxtaposition of colors, textures and materials shouted to me, “Look at me, hidden out of view where few see me. I am beautiful, please take my picture.” So I did. Back in my studio, several months later, I selected this wonderful close-up image as the basis for this architectural abstract photo painting. May you enjoy it as much as I do.

Architecture and architectural detail have been a lifelong love. As a matter of fact, many of my first drawings and paintings were of barns on and around my grandparents farm. When deciding what university major to pursue, it was only due to my less than outstanding math grades that prevented my choice of architecture. However, obtaining a degree in advertising design turned out to be an excellent choice. Yet my interest in architecture persisted.
