Once there were many teahouses in Kanazawa, Japan, but now only a few remain as reminders of where geishas entertained guests with song, stories, food and sexual pleasures. Built of wood, they remain great examples of Japanese architecture, art and indoor decor. While constructed hundreds of years ago, this close up its architectural detail creates a bold vibrant modern abstract painting!

Architecture and architectural detail have been a lifelong love. As a matter of fact, many of my first drawings and paintings were of barns on and around my grandparents farm. When deciding what university major to pursue, it was only due to my less than outstanding math grades that prevented my choice of architecture. However, obtaining a degree in advertising design turned out to be an excellent choice. Yet my interest in architecture persisted.
