Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
In pursuit of subjects for architectural abstract art, frequently I come upon visuals that are so interesting I must also capture them in my reference photos. The subject for this city abstract painting I am countered while wondering one of the many canalside streets in Amsterdam. The burst of colors and laughter emanating from these young ladies sitting in an outside cafe was just too much to resist. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
Architecture and architectural detail have been a lifelong love. As a matter of fact, many of my first drawings and paintings were of barns on and around my grandparents farm. When deciding what university major to pursue, it was only due to my less than outstanding math grades that prevented my choice of architecture. However, obtaining a degree in advertising design turned out to be an excellent choice. Yet my interest in architecture persisted. Twice during my corporate design career I designed and built my own house. Travels allowed visits to noteworthy architectural sites on four continents.
